Lodge Las Ranas
This family owned hotel strives to provide you with all the comforts offered by a boutique Hotel, yet at a very reasonable rate. Each room also has a private balcony that overlooks the beach and jungle. A wonderful feature of our location is that we are at or above the canopy level of the trees and there is the abundance of wildlife such as howler monkeys, parrots and sometimes even the blue morph butterfly.
Enjoy dining at our open air Rancho style restaurant which allows for the light ocean breezes to refresh you after a hot day at the beach, a day of touring on one of the various activities available through our concierge service or a relaxing day simply lounging around our own hilltop pool.
Recent Winner of Peoples Choice Award for one of the Top 25 Hotels in Central America.

“Great location, great room, fantastic service!”
My husband and I went to stay at Lodge Las Ranas in August. The rooms are extremely comfortable and everything you need for a break away from the mad rush of city living. The views as you can see were phenomenal. Cody was extremely helpful and friendly at all times and always happy to advise on where is worth visiting in the area. The food there is beautiful, so if you get a chance to eat there you should definitely try the Mexican chicken dish – Gisele is an amazing cook. Truly a gem, not to be missed.
“I would buy this place if it were for sale!”
Location, location, location. Playa Samara is one of the best beach towns in Costa Rica that we have visited, however, it can be a very busy and noisy surfer town at night. Which makes the location of Lodge Las Ranas Perfect, It is a short 5 minute drive or $4 dollar cab ride from Playa Samara. On top of a hill overlooking 2 beaches, the setting is perfect. Rooms and pool are clean as are all the faciities and the staff is extremely helpful. We even came in one night extremely late without our room key after everything at the lodge was shut down for the evening and the staff was more than willing to help us get into our room. We felt bad waking them, but they said as always, no problem! Breakfast were typical Costa Rican, but included.
“Awesome view! Great hotel…just minutes from Samara Beach.”
My husband found this hotel on Trip Advisory…it has a 5 star rating and they lived up to that rating. What a wonderful property. There are 2 buildings with the rooms…we stayed in #5 and the view was perfect…Samara Beach and the cove on one side and Tropical “jungle” on the other. I was told that sometimes the monkeys come around, but we were not fortunate enough to see one. By the registration desk, Walter was extremely helpful and always had a smile. This is connected to the restaurant. We only ate breakfast there, but it was very good, with a couple of different choices each morning. Rooms are very clean, with no tv or phone…perfect to get away from it all. Great balconies on all rooms. Pool is very clean and nice.
